Anjala Zaveri was born in Portsmouth, England to a Gujarati NRI family. With early exposure to Hindi cinema, she was inspired to build a career in films. She made her Bollywood debut with 'Himalya Putra', which also marked Akshaye Khanna’s first movie. Although the film was a flop, Anjala managed to catch people’s attention. She later appeared in projects like the Salman Khan–Kajol starrer 'Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya', but her journey in Bollywood couldn’t gather momentum.

Being rejected again and again with Hindi films, Anjala made a switch to South Indian films. She became Chiranjeevi's lucky charm and had several popular movies under her belt like 'Shankar Dada M.B.B.S.' and 'Samarasimha Reddy', winning many of her fans and film critics' hearts. Anjala has had a good career in South Indian films for over ten years and received more recognition in South than she did in Bollywood. In 2012, Anjala decided to stop acting altogether, leaving her loyal fans in shock.

While working in the South Indian film industry, Anjala met her future husband Tarun Arora. Tarun is best known for playing Anshuman in 'Jab We Met'. Their friendship later grew into a romance, which led to marriage soon after they started dating. Anjala and Tarun both agreed to not have children so they can focus on their lives together.

Since stepping away from the entertainment world, Anjala has kept a low profile and stayed away from the limelight. She occasionally appears on social media through posts shared by her husband.
