The actress, who was proving her mettle in the world of acting, was out for shooting in a car when the unfortunate incident happened. Recalling the accident, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Mahima shared that a milk truck came from the wrong side and rammed into her car. As the cars collided, the entire glass shattered on her face, leaving damages that pierced even her heart.


Recalling the terrifying moment, the actress revealed that when no one came to her rescue, she felt she was dying. The pain didn’t stop even after reaching the hospital, where her mother was present. “I got up and saw my face in the mirror, and saw the horror. When they did the surgery on me, they took out 67 glass pieces,” she mentioned.

The actress also discussed that initially, she never spoke about the accident, and she had a reason behind it. She was apprehensive that people would not be supportive and that her career would take a nosedive.



Mahima also mentioned how a magazine cover called her “Scarface.” She recalled that the magazine took her picture from afar, back when she still had scars, and used it on their cover page. She mentioned that they actually quoted her as ‘scarface.’
