You returned to theatre with Kishan vs Kanhaiya after a long gap. Why did you choose this particular play?
I have always been doing theatre, even through my film career. It is only with Gujarati theatre that I made a comeback after 16 years, with a play called Dear Father. Sometimes, you come across scripts and stories you believe in and you really want to be a part of. That’s why I chose Kishan vs Kanhaiya.
Now that the play is being adapted into a typical Bollywood flick OMG Oh My God, do you think it will be as successful as the play?
I think OMG Oh My God is going to be a huge success, even bigger hit than the play! Because in the film, we have tried to do something different. While working on the play, I eventually realised what the audiences want. So the film has been tried and tested, keeping their tastes in mind.
Theatre or films, which medium do you prefer?
I would love to do more theatre. It keeps on sharpening my skills. I belong to it and it’s my first love.
