The Show begins!
The curtain has gone up on Subhash Ghais Yuvvraaj. And, the Showman is all set to take a bow. For with this film, he returns to his genre of classy but dramatic cinema musicals.
Look at his canvas for this one. Theres Salman Khan, a dreamy singer; Katrina Kaif, a leading musician; Anil Kapoor, a classical music aficionado; and, Zayed Khan, who grooves to the chaotic sound of disco music! Add a splash of vibrant colour to this canvas with music wizard AR Rahman creating a symphony of sounds using these characters whose lives and values are so different, yet so alike in many ways.

Yet, as always, Ghai has a method to his madness.
He worked on the script of Yuvvraaj for two years to come up with the interesting story of three brothers driven by sibling rivalry and a lady cellist who acts as the catalyst in bringing them together. The three actors did the film not just for the Showman, but for various personal reasons. Said Salman, I liked the script as it was about three brothers. I have two brothers whom I am very close to. Anil is also very close to his brothers Boney and Sanjay. Zayed may be the only son, but his bonding with his siblings, especially his cousin Fardeen, is noteworthy. Like our lives, this film too depicts brotherly bonding in a great way. Zayed found the script fantastic. And Anil, a Ghai camp loyalist loves the music of every film that the Showman makes whether I am a part of the star cast or not. He has this uncanny knack of producing super hit soundtracks.
Ghai himself is modest, and explained how he came about the idea of making Yuvvraaj Ive been inspired by so many stories from literature and cinema that I read and see... so there must be some reflection of characters. When I saw The Rainman in the 80s, I jumped in my seat and wondered whether it was inspired by our own Hindi film Sautelabhai a Guru Dutt and Feroze Khan starrer in the 60s. You, meanwhile, are advised to keep to your seat when your see his latest vision; the audience at the back might not approve of your jumping in your seat every time you see Salman or the lovely Katrina!
