Last week it was reported that two films backed by
Anushka Sharma’s brother Karnesh, namely Chakda 'Xpress starring Anushka, and Afghani Snow, starring Vijay Verma and Triptii Dimri have reached a dead end as the partnership between him and the streaming platform has been called off. In its report, PeepingMoon shared that the reason behind the split has been “creative disagreement” and “budgetary issues”.
Now sources have exclusively told ETimes that the separation between the two former partners has been extremely mutual, as the the deal between them was not working out.
Another source has revealed to us that one of the major reasons behind the split was because Karnesh's production house went overboard with the budget and the platform didn’t like the way both the projects were shaped up.
Chakda 'Xpress is a biopic on cricketer Jhulan Goswami, directed by Prosit Roy ( Pari and Pataal Lok season 1), the shoot for the film was completed in December 2022 . It was also Anushka Sharma’s comeback film after a long gap, her last film was Zero with Shah Rukh Khan. On the other hand, Afghani Snow is an action entertainer directed by Anshai Lal who directed Phillauri and Mai for Karesh’s production house.
