Director Gyan Correa's Gujarati film ‘The Good Road’, which wasn't nationally known, has emerged as the dark horse, winning India's Oscar race. "It's still hard to digest considering I've had films like 'Ship of Theseus' and 'The Lunchbox' to contend with. It is an honour to be recognised and chosen," says Gyan after his film got selected as India's official entry for the Best Foreign Film category. The director had worked on this idea for seven years before eventually making the film with a small budget. "The fact that films like mine can exist today is very heartening. While commercial establishments are doing their jobs and are a lifeline to the entertainment medium, smaller alternate films too are now finding takers," Gyan points out.
