With
Vikas Bahl,
Nana Patekar and
Rajat Kapoor being accused of sexual harassment, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees has now shown their support for the survivors. Representing the unions from the film industry, Ashoke Pandit said, “The Federation is a body consisting of 24 organisations which covers all art forms. Individual organisations have already sent notices to the people who have been accused of sexual harassment.
We have given then 7 to 10 days to respond to the organisation’s call. If they don’t then the Federation will have a second meeting and we will request all the organisations to boycott that person till the time he doesn’t come and appear before us. None of the people under the various organisations will aid the people who have been accused in their shoots. We can’t say that he is guilty because that is not our job."
Quiz him on why big names in Bollywood have not lent their support to the #metoo movement and he said, “The body which plays an important role in the working of the industry has come out to condemn the actions of the perpetrators. It is a moral boost to all those people who have suffered.”
