Prawaal smiled and said it wasn’t, explaining,“Just like the equation between an actor and a director, the equationbetween a director and a producer is also very topsy-turvy. See, the realproblem comes when the director blows up the mind of the producer – withdifferent story ideas and concepts – which the producer doesn’tagree with.
Fortunately, with this movie, there were nodisagreements. So, things were fine. But I’d be lying if I say ‘wewere a happy family on the sets’, because conflict is natural when peoplework together.”
What Prawaal also finds is a zone of conflictis promotions. “Aaj kal, they discuss promotions first and the scriptlater!” he exclaimed. “But the audience is also very smart now. Themoment they see that they are being overfed with one particular subject, theyrealise that there must be something wrong with the film. An overdose ofpromotion even backfires at times, so one needs to be careful.”
