Anil Kapoor and Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor won raves for their intense performances in Thar, but the film's director, Raj Singh Chaudhary also won his share of praise. This slow but assured thriller impressed with its mood, ambience and visceral power. It was a well-crafted film and it was appreciated as such. No wonder then, that Raj was also lauded by the likes of Javed Akhtar.
On the back of Thar's success, Raj has now started work on his next film. Those in the know, have revealed that his next film will also be based in Rajasthan, just like Thar. He assures that his new film is going to be a ‘visual spectacle’ just like his previous offering, but it will be based in an unexplored part of Rajasthan.
Speaking about his next, Raj added, “Yes, the script of my next film is set in Rajasthan, but it will have a side that no one has seen yet and it will be shot at unexplored locations. The story is set in modern time. The scripting is currently in process and once it’s locked, the next process will follow soon.”
Elaborating further, he said, “It’s going to be a visual spectacle, and will be very different from 'Thar' but it will again be shot in Rajasthan. It’s an exciting, pulsating, on-the-edge kind of genre."
Raj has previously written Anurag Kashyap's films like No Smoking and Gulaal. He's even had acting gigs in Kuch Naa Kaho and Black Friday.
