’s trailer has the same impact as the unwarranted slap on Tapsee’s face. It’s harsh, brutal and will make you very angry. It doesn’t matter if you are watching the trailer from a male or female perspective. This story of a woman up in arms against the man who slapped her will resonate with anyone who has either faced mental or physical abuse of any sort.

Anubhav Sinha’s treatment of the subject will remind you of his previous courtroom drama 'Mulk'. Even though the subject matter of these two stories is different the intensity of the impact the trailers have is almost the same. Taapsee is super impressive in her struggle to grapple with rage and also try to understand why everyone around her is making this slap look like a norm that society has blatantly accepted.

Overall, the trailer of 'Thappad' is hard hitting and punches you right in the gut. Also comparisons to 'Kabir Singh' will be inevitable given how the Sandeep Reddy Vaanga film was mired in controversy and outrage over the violent behaviour of the protagonist towards his heroine.
