Even at 72, actress
Tanuja continues to be active in the film industry. She has made appearances in various films and reality shows and recently lent her voice in an animation movie. But while her appearances on the screen have increased of late, her visits to Delhi have become rarer. When we met her at a recent event in the capital, she spoke about her long absence from the city.
Tanuja: I was too lazy to walk so I asked for a wheelchairShe told us, 'This is my first trip to Delhi in over three years. I used to frequently visit the city a while ago, but increasing work commitments have kept me away. Also, I have a lot of friends here and I used to visit them often, but of late the trend has reversed and now they visit me in Mumbai. So, the need to come to Delhi wasn't there for a while. It's not as if I'm trying to avoid Delhi. I have always liked the city.'
The actress said that even though she heard a lot about Delhi winter not being as effective this year, when she came here, she found the usual Dilli ki sardi. She said, 'I was told that the weather here was quite warm this year, but when I reached, I found the usual Delhi winter with the chill and the fog. Maybe the weather turned suddenly, but it's good. It is one of the characteristics of the Delhi!'
