Tanishaa Mukerji on being compared with sister Kajol: 'I was privileged as she was in the industry'

Bollywood actress Tanishaa Mukerji recently addressed comparisons to the stardom of her mother, veteran actress Tanuja, and sister, Kajol. The actress revealed that it never bothers her. She added that Kajol has been working for many years and that her sister's situation is really different from her own.

In an interview with the Indian Express, Tanishaa said that she does not compare herself to other actors, so why should she compare herself to her sister. She believes that each actor has their own journey. Tanishaa even admits that her career was not as good as her sister’s, but the fact is Kajol started when she was 16. Tanishaa got so much privilege because she was in the industry. The actress expressed gratitude for her career and stated that it was a comfortable one. She stated that the world loves to keep comparing, and that she does not live in that space.


Tanishaa Mukerji proved that she is a good dancer through the reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11’. In an episode, she said that Ajay Devgn, Kajol, and everyone in her family is a star, and she hasn't reached that position. She also added that she is not a star as a reaction to the comparison. But later, when she started dealing with all such comments with maturity, she called it the insecurity of people who spread such things on social media.
