Tanisha Mukherji in the play ‘The Verdict’

Tanisha Mukherji, Dalip Tahil, Madhoo, Aditya Hitkari, Pawan Chopra and stand-up comedian Aditi Mittal are teaming up for Divya Palat’s play, The Verdict. The first show of the play will take place on August 15 in Mumbai.
“The Verdict, which premiered first in 2003, was our production company’s maiden venture. Now, 10 years later, we are proud to premiere a brand new version of The Verdict, with a new cast, new characters, new story line and many new twists.We are at present doing seven shows in Mumbai. Then we plan to travel with the murder mystery across India. That apart, we have already got invitations to stage the play in UK and USA,” said Divya.
While Divya’s husband, Aditya, is playing a prosecution attorney, Madhoo will be playing the victim’s wife while Tanisha will be playing the character of Riya Sharma, his mistress. Pawan Chopra will be playing Madhoo’s dad. Dilip Tahil will be playing the defence attorney and stand-up comedian Aditi Mittal will play a witness.
Aditi said, “It’s a fun play. I am excited because there is a lot of audience interaction. It is open ended and even the actors don’t know what will be the conclusion. My role will be substantial in helping the audiences decide who they think is the murderer. We have been rehearsing for a month now.”
