He also said that Tihar is like a five-star. “I have visited Taloja jail in Mumbai a couple of times to meet Abu Salem, since I am playing Salem in my next film. Taloja is like a dharamshala, while Tihar is like a five-star hotel,” he said. Richa said that Tihar is even bigger than Mumbai’s Andheri. “I would like to look at things in a positive way. You are learning a lot of things. I am very happy that you are utilizing your time in a good way. Stay happy and thank God,” she added. Nikhil and Richa’s excitement was so great that they promised the inmates that they would visit the jail, irrespective of whether their films are up for a release or not. Nikhil told the inmates, “We will never charge money for coming here. Even if our films are not releasing, we will come here,” he said.

Richa added, “We will bring other people from the film fraternity to meet you.” Nikhil also said that it was a good thing that the inmates were being rehabilitated. “The idea is to rehabilitate and reform the inmates. And Tihar is doing that. They can become a part of the mainstream society once they step out.” On the occasion, the members of Tihar’s music band also performed for the actors. Mike, who belongs to Nigeria, sang Dum Maaro Dum, and this performance had everyone in splits. Rishabh Chauhan, another inmate, sang Sun Raha Hai Na Tu, and he was accompanied by Tony, who rapped in English. Rajesh Chauhan, superintendent of Jail No 1, said, “I hope you are released soon from this jail and get to enjoy Bakrid with your family members.” Nikhil said, “I never thought you guys would be so talented. It’s incredible and inspiring. Agar hum logon ko AC na miley, ya theek se khaana na miley, toh saara talent baith jaata hai. We have learnt a lot from you guys. Tihar is cleaner than any hotel. Modiji ne toh baad mein bahar shuru kiya hai safaai abhiyaan. Yahan to safaai abhiyaan pehle se hi chal raha hai.”
