Too busy : Arindam Sil. (TOI Photo)Of late, Arindam Sil seems to be missing from the small screen. Quiz him on the same and the actor answers, “I would always love to call myself a television actor first. But the present scenario of the small screen is disheartening. The megas which have the highest TRPs are the ones lacking in qualitative value.” And that is exactly the reason why he is concentrating solely on a single project — the mega, titled Lal Trikon.
In fact, Arindam has taken the plunge in production too. He speaks to CT about the details of his upcoming projects where he will don the dual hats of executive producer and actor. There is Goutam Halder’s Mukti based on the novel Bijolibalar Mukti which has Vidya Balan, Tanuja and Soumitra Chatterjee among others. The next in line is Kaushik Ganguly’s Brake Fail. A fun film, the cast includes Annu Kapoor, Parambrata, Saswata Chatterjee, Koel Mallick, Santu Mukherjee, Neel Mukherjee, Sagnik and myself.” These apart, there is Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha’s Jodi Love Dile Na Prane with June, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Gargi Roy Chowdhury, Saswata Chatterjee, Parambrata and Arindam. The list, however, would not be complete without a mention of Anjan Dutt’s thriller film which is in the pipeline too. The Hindi films in the offing are by directors Shashank Ghosh, Arindam Mitra of Shunya fame and Aditya Bhattacharya.
