Tabu, Shobana share best actress award

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">NEW DELHI: Bollywood actress Tabu shared the best actress award for <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Chandni Bar</span> with South Indian star Shobana for her role in <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Mitr-My Friend</span> while Malayalam actor Murali bagged the best actor award for his role in <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Neythukaran</span> (Weaver) in the 49th National Film Awards announced on Friday.<br />B Lenin got the Best Director Award for his <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Ooruku Nooru Peru</span> (Hundred People in a Hamlet) and Girish Kasaravalli''s <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Dweep</span> (Island) was adjudged the Best Film.<br />Hindi blockbuster <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Lagaan</span>, which missed the Oscar, is the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment. </div> </div>
