Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan' released with Akshay Kumar's 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' and both the films have done average at the box office. They have not been able to bring in those huge numbers or meet expectations but 'Maidaan' has gotten some rave reviews and a lot of praise! Many have called it Ajay Devgn's best role so far.

Many industry celebs have also lauded the film and now Taapsee Pannu has also showered praise. She also indirectly said that the such films should be supported by the audience. She wrote, "Maidaan. Then let’s not say our big films lack soul and heart.”

She also praised her friend, actor Abhilash Thapliyal and said, "Abhilash Thapliyal, cheers to adding one feather at a time to the filmography hat."

Taapsee has always been very honest about her opinions and has always tried to be a part of films that make an impact or have a message.
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor had also showered praise on the film and he wrote, "Really enjoyed watching Maidaan today. Such a well-made and well-performed film. Go watch it guys. This is a genuine candid post you all. Good films deserve to be seen. All the best to the entire team."

'Maidaan' is based on the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim who served as a coach and manager of the Indian football team from 1950 to 1963. The film is directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor.
