Taapsee Pannu praises Ajay Devgn's Maidaan amid lukewarm response at the box office: 'Then let's not say our big films lack soul and heart'

Ajay Devgn's latest sports drama Maidaan has sparked a wave of admiration from industry figures, despite its lukewarm reception at the box office. The film, which has amassed approximately Rs 28 crore in its first 8 days, has garnered accolades for its storytelling and performances.

Joining the chorus of praises is Taapsee Pannu, who recently took to Instagram to express her admiration for Maidaan. Sharing a picture from the theatre, she wrote, "#Maidaan then lets not say our big films lack soul and heart," showcasing her appreciation for the film's emotional depth and narrative impact.

Taapsee also extended appreciation to her friend Abhilash Thapliyal, who plays a significant role in Maidaan. She added, "@abhilashthapliyal cheers to adding one feather at a time to the filmography hat," acknowledging the contributions of the cast and crew to the movie's success.




Prior to Taapsee's endorsement, Maidaan had received acclaim from a host of prominent personalities including Shahid Kapoor, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Javed Akhtar, and former cricketer Sourav Ganguly.



Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Maidaan is a poignant portrayal of Syed Abdul Rahim's unwavering dedication to football, which brought tremendous pride to India. Ajay Devgn essays the role of Rahim in the film. The movie also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh in pivotal roles.
