Sushmita Sen was in her early 20s when she decided to be a mother and adopted Renee. 10 years later she adopted her second child Alisah, and Sen believes that bringing these girls into her life was the wisest decision she made. In an interview, Sushmita mentioned that people might think that adoption was a great act of charity, but for her, it was more for self-preservation. She did it to protect herself.
