Investigations into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has taken a new turn with a possible drug angle becoming the central point of the probe. After the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation interrogating the main accused – Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Siddharth Pithani, Samuel Miranda, and Shruti Modi – the Narcotics Control Bureau has stepped in to conduct their investigation into the case. At a time when the late actor’s family is rallying up fans to join various social media movements, Bollywood stars are slowly rising to stand by Rhea and slam the ‘witch hunt’ she has been facing. With the actress showing her full co-operation with the federal investigation agencies, and the case nowhere close to coming to a close, here are all the updates.

A few minutes back, it was reported that the NCB is likely to arrest Rhea today. She is currently at the NCB office in Mumbai for the third round of interrogation.Now according to the latest report by Times Now, Rhea has been taken into NCB custody. She will be taken for a medical test in some time. The procedure is under process. The officials might soon announce the same. She will not be produced before the court today.

According to Times Now, the 'Jalebi' actress, who is at the NCB office in Mumbai for the third round of interrogation today, is currently in the last leg of questioning. While her brother Showik Chakraborty along with Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant and others have been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in the drugs case linked to the probe, Rhea too might be arrested today.

Rhea Chakraborty has been accused siphoning Rs 15 crore from Sushant Singh Rajput’s accounts by father KK Singh in his FIR against her. Reports were rife that the said amount was given to the actor by Rumi Jaffrey as a signing amount for his upcoming film with Sushant. Rubbishing all such reports, the filmmaker told a news portal that he has not given any such signing amount to Sushant for their film together. The film was also supposed to star Rhea Chakraborty in the lead. Rumi also added that Rs 15 crore was not even the full price for the film. He stated that there was no agreement signed so the signing was out of the question.

According to a Times Now report, Rhea, who was confronted with her brother Showik by the NCB officials is reported to have allegedly said that she had done drugs on the behest of Sushant. While the diva had earlier confessed of procuring drugs but never consuming them is reported to have admitted of consuming them with the late actor.

Today, Sushant’s family lawyer Vikas Singh held a press conference with the media to deny allegations of the FIR registered by the Mumbai police. While addressing the media, Singh claimed Rhea Chakraborty’s complaint as “illegal” and against the Supreme Court’s order on transferring the probe of the death case to the CBI team from Mumbai police. Singh also alleged the Bandra police station to be the actress’s “second home.”

Rhea Chakraborty, who has reached the Narcotics Control Bureau's office for the third time today for interrogation is reported to have taken contradicted her own statement on 'never consuming drugs' yesterday. According to a Times Now report, the 'Jalebi' actress is reported to have said that she 'might have smoked a joint' during her eight hours of interrogation by the NCB officials.
