Priya Sachdev Kapur made her first public appearance since the death of her husband, Sunjay Kapur, amid a high-profile legal battle over his massive estate. She attended a major business event in Delhi, marking her official step into carrying forward Sunjay’s business legacy.
Attends ACMA Annual Convention
Priya attended the ACMA Annual Convention in Delhi on Friday. Several pictures of her at the event have been shared on social media.

She was recently appointed to ACMA’s Executive Committee for 2025-26, with her updated professional bio showing the position from September 12. This is a notable milestone, as she officially joins one of the industry’s top forums, even while a legal battle over Sunjay Kapur’s estate with his children, Samaira and Kiaan, is ongoing.
Role at ACMA and Sona Comstar
She attended the ACMA meeting as the director of Aureus Investment (AIPL) and as a non-executive director and chairperson of the CSR committee at Sona Comstar. Her late husband, Sunjay Kapur, had also served as ACMA’s chairperson.
Claims by Karisma’s children
Meanwhile, Priya is involved in a high-profile legal battle over Sunjay Kapur’s estate. The case was filed by his children with Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and Kiaan, with their mother serving as their legal guardian. Along with Sunjay’s mother and sister, they have raised doubts about the authenticity of his will.
Karisma's children claim that their late father had repeatedly assured them of their share, which was missing in his final will. They have accused their stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur, of altering the document. The lawsuit was filed after Priya presented a will at a July 30 family meeting, allegedly executed on March 21.
Delhi High Court hearing
Last week, the Delhi High Court heard a plea filed by Samaira and Kiaan, seeking their share of their late father’s property and alleging that Priya Sachdev Kapur forged the will to exclude them from the inheritance. Karisma Kapoor, their mother, is not a plaintiff but is representing her children. During the hearing, the court ordered Priya to provide a list of all of Sunjay Kapur’s movable and immovable assets. The next hearing is scheduled for October 9. Sunjay Kapur, founder and chairman of auto manufacturer Sona Comstar, passed away in London in June this year.
Court permits removal of Mandhira Kapur in case
The Delhi High Court on Friday permitted an application filed by Priya to remove the name of her late husband's sister, Mandhira Kapur, from its order in proceedings concerning his purported will. Senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, representing Priya, argued that the inclusion amounted to “an attempt by Mandhira to gain a back door entry into the case.”
The application further contended that the earlier order “wrongfully reflects the appearance of counsel on behalf of Mandhira, even though she is not a party to the present proceedings.”
