Suniel Shetty won't watch Ahan Shetty's ‘Border 2’ till Rs 500 crore mark: 'God will ensure...'
Suniel Shetty is enjoying his son Ahan Shetty's new movie ‘Border 2’. It has Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan, and it's a big hit at the box office. But the experienced actor has not seen it. He said he will watch it only after it earns Rs 500 crore. Nearly one month later, it has not hit that number. So, he is sticking to his words and avoiding the shows.
Anurag Singh's ‘Border 2’ stormed theaters in January 2026, striking a chord with viewers who raved about the stellar acting all around. Amid the buzz, Suniel Shetty chatted with ABP News about skipping the film so far. The ‘Hera Pheri’ actor explained, “Because I had decided long ago, even before the film, that since it’s a patriotic film, it should definitely cross Rs 500 crore. And I had set it in my mind that I will watch it only after that."
‘Border 2’ has raked in roughly Rs 447 crore globally, per Sacnilk figures. Suniel went on, “I think, for a father’s love, God will ensure we reach the Rs 500 crore mark. It was just a thought, an emotion, and I have stuck to it. And just so you know, I haven’t seen a single frame of the film yet."
Suniel also opened up about steering clear of live games featuring son-in-law KL Rahul. A die-hard cricket lover, he skips the matches, commentary included. Shetty shared, “I understand what’s happening from my wife, who’s watching and reacting in the next room. I do watch highlights later, because by then everything has settled, otherwise, I get extremely anxious. He’s my child, and we just want him to do well. It’s also because of the age of constant commentary. The comments made on you never affect you, but the ones made on our children have an impact. From that point of view, I don’t watch the game live."Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
