Suniel Shetty and Athiya Shetty shower appreciation and love on KL Rahul for his historic IPL feat: ‘A storm in disguise’

Suniel Shetty and his daughter Athiya Shetty are proud of cricketer KL Rahul as he created history in the Indian Premier League (IPL), becoming the first player ever to smash centuries for three different franchises. The proud father and daughter duo took to social media to celebrate Rahul’s incredible achievement in style.

Suniel shared a heartfelt post on Instagram Stories featuring Rahul’s picture, along with the words, “A storm in disguise ��.” Athiya, meanwhile, reposted a tribute shared by Delhi Capitals that read, “Fifth IPL hundred from the bat of the beast.” She added a red heart emoji and chose ‘Believer’ by Imagine Dragons as the background music — a fitting choice to mark such a powerful moment.

A couple that wins hearts
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul have been a favourite among fans ever since rumours of their relationship surfaced in 2019. The couple made things official in 2021, and later tied the knot on 23 January 2023 in a quiet, intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends. Athiya’s sweet gesture after Rahul’s century was just another reminder of the love they share.


Baby Evaarah joins the team
The couple’s happiness reached a new high earlier this year when they became parents to a baby girl. Athiya and Rahul had announced their pregnancy in November last year, and welcomed their daughter in March.Sharing the news with fans, the pair posted a heartwarming photo with their newborn on Instagram. The caption read, "Our baby girl, our everything. Evaarah/इवारा ~ Gift of God."


Suniel Shetty on watching his daughter become a mum
While KL Rahul is making waves on the cricket pitch, Suniel has been soaking in the joys of being a grandfather. Speaking to News18 Showsha, he opened up about how proud he is of Athiya and the way she’s taken on motherhood with grace and strength. “Athiya has embraced motherhood like a fish to water. She’s absolutely fantastic. Every father thinks of their daughters as little babies. I also thought so and wondered if she’ll be able to handle motherhood, but she’s unbelievable! I keep telling Mana every single day about how proud I’m of Athiya. The way she has adapted to this new life, is going about things and went about her delivery makes me feel so proud. She took everything to her stride,” Suniel shared.
