Sun is shining bright on me: Aftab

Actor Aftab Shivdasani is signing projects left, right and centre. NT gets up, close and personal with the actor who has turned a producer recently.
Sun is shining bright on me: Aftab
Lady luck is smiling blithely on Aftab Shivdasani and he has been flooded with acting offers despite his recent release De Taali not doing well.
He is now shuttling from one location to another to complete his films. Aftab is currently working on some big projects like Acid Factory with Sanjay Gupta and Ganesh Acharyas directorial debut Money Hai Toh Honey Hai.
1x1 polls
He talks to NT about his single status, his new films and how life has treated him...
THE LUCK FACTOR
The actor has a firm faith in luck and karma. He says, "Luck plays a great role in our lives. Earlier too, I have worked with top directors like Vikram Bhatt and Priyadarshan, and my work has been appreciated. Still, I wasnt considered successful in the real sense of the word. But, now I feel that the sun is shining bright on me." And how about adding an extra alphabet to his name like most actors to give that extra fillip to his career? After a hearty laugh, he replies, "I just don't believe in all that stuff. I would rather let my work speak for me. And I will get what I am destined to get."
SINGLE, BUT NOT READY TO MINGLE
One of the eligible bachelors of B-Town, Aftab is not yet ready to mingle. Ask him, whether it's because of his bitter experience with former girlfriend Yaana Gupta and he says, "Not at all. I am neck-deep in work. I have moved on in life, but the problem is that I don't have the time for love right now. Also, since I have turned producer, I am spending a lot of time finishing the script of the film in which I will also be acting. If I have some time on hand, I would love to go on a dream date somewhere close to nature with my beloved. But, at the moment theres nobody on my horizon."

FUN WITH CO-STARS
Ask Aftab, whether the thought of other stars overtaking him scares him and he says, "Not really. Everybody has a place in the industry. In fact, working with some of the talented young guys can be a lot of fun. In De Taali, I worked with Ritiesh and believe me, I had a wonderful time."
UNWINDING TRICKS
With so many projects in hand, life has become really hectic for Aftab. He says the moment he feels that work is taking a toll on him, he immediately switches over to listening instrumental music. "Listening to music refurbishes my energy levels. In fact, I listen to music when I am working out in the gym, travelling or doing anything else. Even when I am talking to people on the phone, the music is always playing in the background," says he.
LIFE IS FAIR
Ask Aftab how life has treated him and on a philosophical note he says, "I would say that life has been quite fair to me. It has given me what I need and not what I want. It has taught me to count my blessings. Though I can't say that I don't regret anything in life, I am training myself to accept things. Life has only made me wiser."
