It''s Bhagat Singh again. BJP MP and former head of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Mr Singhal has submitted a petition to the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee to stop the release of these films.
In his petition, Singhal charged the films with causing grave outrage. He claims that The Legend of Bhagat Singh and 23rd March 1931 Shaheed have distorted history.
According to him it is bound to damage the sacred image of Bhagat Singh. He alleges that instead of showing Bhagat Singh as a thinker, political philosopher and a writer, he is being reduced to a romantic hero in these films.
Earlier, a Delhi NGO had also moved petitions to the I&B Ministry to stop these films. Though both films have been released, a PIL against these films is coming up for hearing on June 12 in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The Bhagat Singh war has reached the court too. We will wait for the verdict!
