Star-studded emotional launch for 'Kalank'

Bollywood’s best transcended on a common platform on Tuesday as Karan Johar and the team behind the ambitious period drama, '

', launched the film’s teaser. Karan along with Apoorva Mehta (CEO, Dharma Productions), Vijay Singh (CEO, Fox Star Studios) and Sajid Nadiadwala spoke about the film and how it’s director Abhishek Verman hasn’t left a single stone unturned to give the film the scale it deserves.The highlight of the event was the presence of the film’s star-studded ensemble cast. Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha regaled the audience with their repartee. Varun and Alia in particular playfully roasted each other. However, the highlight of the event was Sanjay and Madhuri, who will be seen back on screen together in this film after two decades. Madhuri remembered Sridevi as the latter was originally cast in the film as well as revealed how Abhishek was hard to please as a director. Fox Star Studios presents 'Kalank', A Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment film, directed by Abhishek Varman. Produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta, and co-produced by Fox Star Studios, it releases on April 17.
