Howard Rosemeyer will direct Jia aur Jia starring Kalki and RichaHoward Rosemeyer, who had choreographed for films such as
Parineeta and
Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and occasionally moonlights as a stand-up comic, famous for his mimicry of
Aamir Khan, is now turning director.
Rosemeyer will wield the megaphone for a film titled
Jia aur Jia starring
Kalki Koechlin and
Richa Chadha in pivotal roles. The movie is about a life-changing journey undertaken by two very different women.
When contacted, Howard said: “I have two great actors on board. I will deal with the subject in a light-hearted manner. It’s a women-centric film and a great opportunity for me. Assisting Pradeep Sarkar has helped me develop the art of photography, and I will use it in this project.”
A source told this newspaper: “Mudassar Aziz, who directed
Dulha Mil Gaya (2010), has written the script. He took a lot of time breathing life into his characters." Apparently, Mudassar would have opted to direct the film had he not felt that: “When it came to adapting the script for celluloid, Howard was capable of doing better," added the source. Mudassar confirmed Kalki and Richa have been cast in the film, which will be shot extensively in Sweden starting October.
