Celebrated Bengali actor
Soumitra Chatterjee passed away at the age of 85 in Kolkata. The thespian was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata since October and was put on life support on November 14 as his condition worsened. Soumitra Chatterjee breathed his last on Sunday morning.
Fondly remembering the legend, several Bollywood celebrities paid tribute to Soumitra Chatterjee on social media.
Rahul Bose shared his memory of working with the veteran in '15 Park Avenue'. “I grew up watching his films day after day. So working with him in #15ParkAvenue was surreal. He answered all my questions on how it was to work with #SatyajitRay with generosity and warmth. It’s been a privilege, Soumitrada. Rest in peace,” Rahul Bose had posted on Twitter.
Manoj Bajpayee had shared, “Tragic loss!! Rest in peace Sir!! Your contribution to the Indian Cinema will always be remembered and inspire the generations to come !!”

Satyajit Ray's cult classic ‘Apur Sansar’ and in his decades-long career he was honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award,
