Sonu Nigam's recent comment on 'I wish I was born in Pakistan' brought the singer into headlines once again. The singer clarifies on the statement with a media house which he made recently.
For those who came in now, Singer Sonu Nigam had clarified on his comment that he wished he was born in Pakistan because then he would at least get singing offers from India. However, the singer was heavily trolled by the netizens for the same. Sonu after which had posted his version on his
Facebook Page stating that his 'comments were taken out of the context.' He wrote that his point about being better born in Pakistan was about 'music companies in India asking
Indian singers
to pay 40-50% of their concerts remunerations to them, but they don't ask the same from the singers from abroad, namely Pakistan.
Now talking to a media house, Sonu further clarified that it was a joke which he made as Indian singers are asked to pay some amount of money to music companies but that is not the case with
Pakistani singers
even if they are singing for the same audiences. So his answer was through a business point of view and nothing else. It was taken wrongly. Moreover, Sonu also put light on the fact that Pakistani singers cannot be banned whereas people were saying the other way around. He said he knew it will never happen as he further said that 'Hum itne tang dil nahi ho sakte ki hum unhe
ban
kar dein'."
Well said, Sonu Nigam!!!
