Soni Razdan took to her Instagram handle to share a fanmade video that showed the striking resemblance between her daughter Alia Bhatt’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ look and her look in ‘Mandi’.
Check out the video here: In the video, clips of both Soni and Alia from their films ‘Mandi’ and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ respectively have been merged together with the song ‘Meri Jaan’ playing in the background. Along with the video, Soni wrote, ‘Have to say I’m gobsmacked with this brilliant edit. Thank you for taking the time to do this @alia.bhatt.edits you are so clever !’
As soon as she shared the video, comments poured in from all sides. Alia also took to the comment section and dropped heart emoticons. Her half-sister Pooja Bhatt also dropped fire emojis in the comment section.
While one fan wrote, ‘Oh this is insanely wonderful!’, another one added, ‘Wow !!! Abs fab -cut to cut copy to copy !!!’ The fanpage which made the video also replied to Soni and wrote, ‘This made my day. Thank you.’
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike. It also featured Ajay Devgn in a cameo. ‘Mandi’, on the other hand, had a massive star cast including Soni's friends Neena Gupta, Shabana Azmi and Ila Arun. It was directed by Shyam Benegal.
