It’s the second time around for Shirish Kunder and Farah Khan, but the directors are no less surprised than they were the first time! A few days before the music release of
Tees Maar Khan, the film’s title track had got leaked online, and in a similar fashion, their controversial item song I want fakhta you from
Joker — the one they decided to scrap and re-dub — was leaked on the internet yesterday.
The leaked version has the old lyrics, which were changed to I want just you a week ago after the directors thought the song could turn out to be too controversial.
Says Farah, “Shirish had written the song. It’s like the dialogue Ajay (Devgn) had said in
Singham, ‘Fakhta Bajirao Singham’. It was picturised on
Chitrangada Singh, but later when we saw it on the editing table with the original lyrics, we felt it could become too controversial.
Joker is a family entertainer and we didn’t want it to become another
DK Bose and get a U/A certificate for it. So, we changed the lyrics. We shot it again last week only to find out that the original has been leaked! I don’t know what to do...” Says Shirish, “We were shocked to find the video of the song leaked.” It has now happened twice in a row to Shirish-Farah. We really hope it’s just an innocent coincidence.
