Salman Khan received a lot of flak when his name was announced as the goodwill ambassador of the Rio Olympics. Many believed that instead of the actor, appointing any sports person would have made more sense. But recently Salman found a supporter in his 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' co-star Sonam Kapoor. The actress told a daily, 'Of course, Salman's the best choice. As an actor, you only popularise things. There are only three things in India ' religion, sports and politics. Salman is also the correct choice because he' done so much for everyone here. People should respect that.'
She further added, 'I don't understand the unnecessary hue and cry about him becoming the face of Rio Olympics at all. Salman is a great human being and supports a lot of charitable causes and is one of the biggest superstars we have in India. So his inclusion will only add to the event and help it reach out to more people.'
