Sonali Raut recalls Ranveer Singh was “very shy” during their first shoot, reveals she was asked to make him comfortable

Sonali Raut has opened up about how 'Dhurandhar' star Ranveer Singh felt nervous during a bikini shoot. Since she had experience with such bold photoshoots, she was asked to help Ranveer feel at ease, as he was still new to the entertainment industry and quite shy at the time. Sonali mentioned that the Ranveer she saw back then was very different from the highly energetic and confident actor he is today.

In a conversation with Filmi Beat, Sonali said, “I know Ranveer very differently. I did a pose with him, and after a few years, he did the same pose with Vaani Kapoor. Ranveer, at that time, was very sweet, very friendly and very nice. He was not like (imitates him) ‘Yeah’, full of energy, no. Actually, he was very shy because again, it was a bikini shoot.”




She recalled, “It was very bold. It was glamorous. Sonali further shared that Ranveer was very concious during the shoot. She said, ‘Ranveer told me that this is his first shoot like that, like very glamorous, and with a girl who’s wearing a bikini.’ Yeah, he was so cautious. He was chewing gum, he was wearing perfume… I was chill, and even the photographer was like, ‘Sonali, don’t make him conscious because you are okay, but he’s a little nervous. Please make him comfortable."

Raut said that, contrary to his ‘Dhurandhar’ image, she has seen a much softer, sweeter side of Ranveer who was clearly nervous on set. She remembered him telling her, “You know, Sonali, it’s my first shoot. You know, I’m wearing clothes.” She added, “I said, ‘Yeah, you are wearing clothes, what are you nervous about?’”

Meanwhile, Ranveer has sparked a major box office wave with ‘Dhuradhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2’. According to Sacnilk, the combined earnings of ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ have now surpassed the Rs 3000 crore mark, a milestone no other Indian film has reached so far. ‘Dhurandhar 2’, starring Ranveer and produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, has enjoyed a steady and largely uninterrupted theatrical run.
