Sonali Bendre has recently opened up about how Saroj Khan wanted to ‘kill her’ while they were filming for ‘English Babu Desi Mem’. The 1996 release featured Shah Rukh Khan and Sonali Bendre in the lead roles. Saroj Khan was the choreographer for the film, and Sonali has now shared an interesting anecdote while they were filming for the Praveen Nischol directorial.
Sonali Bendra, who is now the judge for various reality shows on television, divulged how she was a rookie and quite untrained during her early days in the industry.

In an interview with Mid-Day, she spoke about how Saroj Khan wanted to ‘kill her’ because she couldn’t dance, and her role was that of a bar dancer.
“I had done English Babu Desi Mem, where Saroj Khan was ready to kill me because I couldn’t dance, and I was playing a bar dancer. Can you imagine what she was going through? I was struggling,” Sonali shared.

She also revealed that during those days, Ahmed Khan, the assistant of Saroj Khan, would bribe her with chocolates and ice cream to train her. He would pick her up from her home in Lokhandwala (Andheri, Mumbai), take her to a rehearsal hall, and train her. “He would literally bribe me, like a little child,” Sonali shared.
