Sonakshi Sinha made her perfect debut in the film industry with the superhit Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg’. Recently the actress shared her ‘Dabangg’ journey where she playfully said that it felt like an ‘Arranged marriage’.
Talking to Kareena Kapoor in the podcast What Women Want Season 5, Sonakshi Sinha said that her ‘Dabangg’ journey was not a planned one and it just ‘happened’. Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan saw her at Amrita Arora’s marriage and came to her by saying that they were writing a movie in which she would be the perfect one to play the female lead.
Sonakshi said that during Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan’s first meeting, she had lost all the weight. Sonakshi who was pursuing fashion design at that time, didn’t take their offer with it’s seriousness and she started to sense her stepping into the film industry when both of them came to her home to narrate ‘Dabangg’s script.
After her whole family listened to the script, Salman Khan and Arbaaz nodded and left; the next moment felt like a fast-forward for Sonakshi as was soon in the ‘Dabangg’ script, paired with Salmaan Khan. She said, “It felt like an arranged marriage. But once I reached the set, I realized I wanted to do this, and I’ve been doing it ever since."
Sonakshi further added that once she started working, she never thought about the idea of stopping it anytime soon.
Meanwhile, ‘Dabangg’ marked Salman Khan’s one of the best films in his career and turned out to be an all-time blockbuster film. Recently Salman’s character Chulbul Pandey was featured in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’.
