Smriti Irani hails Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar', saying, 'If you aren’t capable of violence, you aren’t peaceful'

Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar', starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, has been receiving massive applause from the audience. And now, actress and former cabinet minister Smriti Irani took to her social media to shower praise on the film. She penned a note on "peace" and "violence" while praising the multi-starrer action-adventure. Let's take a look at it.

Smriti Irani lauds Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar'

Smriti Irani took to her Instagram Stories and lauded Ranveer Singh's latest release 'Dhurandhar'. She wrote, "Don’t call yourself ‘peaceful’ unless you’re capable of violence. If you aren’t capable of violence, you aren’t peaceful; you’re harmless." She also added fire emojis at the end of her caption and hashtagged 'Dhurandhar'.

With this, the actress gave a shoutout to the film amidst some critics bashing it for showcasing "hypermasculinity."


Earlier, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri had come forward to extend his support to the film that has been raking in big numbers at the box office since its release in theaters. He advised Ranveer and Aditya to ignore the naysayers and celebrate the success of the movie.

More about 'Dhurandhar'

The film stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. The movie has been receiving a massive response in theaters, and the same is reflected in its box office numbers as well.

Singh has played the role of an Indian spy who infiltrates the terror group based in the Lyari town of Pakistan. Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna essayed the character of Rehman Dakait, Arjun Rampal has been shown as ISI's Major Iqbal, and Sanjay Dutt as SP Aslam Chaudhary.

The movie is allegedly based on real-life events; however, the makers have not stated it anywhere. It also features Saumya Tandon, Raj Zutshi, Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera, and others in pivotal roles.

The movie was released in theaters on December 5, 2025. The sequel of the film is scheduled to hit cinemas in March 2026.
