Smita Jayakar: Shishir Sharma is a close friend and we enjoyed every shot together

Senior actors Smita Jayakar

and Shishir Sharma have known each other for over three decades and that friendship is showcased in their latest film.

Smita tells us, “Shishir is a very good friend of mine. I’ve known him for almost 30 years. We have done a lot of serials together. In fact, we have known each other's family for a long time. I'm very comfortable working with him. There's a good rapport between us and no ego issues and we share an excellent bond. Shishir advised me to do this film since the script was great. The actress known for strong character roles in blockbusters like '

', 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Astitva', 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge!', ‘Pardes' and many others, plays the role of a sick lady in this film. “Playing a sick person wasn't really challenging for me because I've observed and been close to a cancer patient in my family. But the only irony was that my appearance didn't match with a cancer patient as I was very plump at that time. It was creatively enhancing but not a challenging role," she says.

The veteran actress had a great time shooting with her friend. She shares, “I had an excellent and euphoric experience during the shoot. My co-actor Shishir is a heart-warming person and a close friend of mine. We enjoyed every shot together. It was my first time working with our director Pragyesh ji and it was a pleasure. He always ensured our comfort. Besides, Lucknow is my favourite city. I enjoy the food, culture and everything about it. And I would love to be a part of his future projects.”
