Raj Purohit, the director of Sixteen, has refuted the allegations by parents of teenagers, that his film has youngsters using inappropriate language. He reasons, “Today’s youngsters enjoy a lot of exposure and the use of slang is common. I want to clarify that my film is bold, but not sleazy.”
The film has been issued a U/A certificate by the Censor Board. Further, he tells us that the Board also feels that the film is not only for teenagers, but also their parents.
“No one can stop the youth from doing what they want to, but parents have to guide them when it comes to making choices. My film is entertaining and not preachy. After watching it, I hope parents take the initiative to have a heart-to-heart chat with their teens,” he sums up.
Sixteen, presented by Fincraft Media & Entertainment and Paramhans Creations, releases July 12.
