'Singham' actor Ravindra Berde passes away at 78 after battling cancer

Ravindra Berde, who has featured in numerous Hindi and Marathi movies, passed away on December 13. He was 78 years old. Ravindra Berde was the brother of late Laxmikant Berde.

The veteran actor was reportedly undergoing treatment for cancer for the past few months and was admitted to Tata Hospital in Mumbai after being diagnosed with throat cancer. According to Maharashtra Times, Ravindra Berde was discharged from the hospital two days back but suffered a sudden heart attack on Wednesday morning. He is survived by his wife, two children, daughter-in-law and a grandchild.

Ravindra Berde has featured in over 100 films and shared screen space with Anil Kapoor in 'Nayak: The Real Hero', which released in 2001. He was also a part of Rohit Shetty's first 'Singham' movie, starring Ajay Devgn. Ravindra Berde essayed the role of Zamindar Chandrakant in this action entertainer. Ravindra Berde has also worked with seasoned stars like Ashok Saraf, Vijay Chavan, Viju Khote, Sudhir Joshi and Bharat Jadhav among others
