It’s 2025 and a bunch of newbies are set to mark their debut in Bollywood as actors. One of them is Simar Bhatia, Akshay Kumar’s niece. The latter is very excited about her debut. In the Instagram post, Akshay wrote, “I remember the first time I saw my photo on the cover of the newspaper. I thought that’s the ultimate happiness. But today I know the happiness of seeing your child’s photo here beats everything. I wish my mom was here today and she would have said 'Simar puttar Tu tah Kamaal hai'. Bless you my baby, the sky is yours.”

Soon Bollywood actors showed support towards the budding actor reacting to Akshay’s post. Both Rakul Preet Singh and Huma Qureshi replied with heart emojis on the post.

Simar is the daughter of Akshay’s sister Alka. She will be seen in Ikkis alongside Agastya Nanda who was last seen in The Archies. The film also reportedly stars legendary actor Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat. It’s touted to be a war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. He was awarded Param Vir Chakra posthumously and lived an exemplary life. Helmed by Sriram Raghavan, the film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan.

Talking about the film, the Sriram had told the media, “It is not going to be the Amar Chitra Katha version of that story. It is not like this was his childhood and all that. It is about this young officer, who was martyred two months after his 21st birthday. It’s during this time when a boy becomes a man. Then something happens 30 years later, which is again interesting… It is a bigger production, there will be tank battles, and all those things that happen in a war film. But it is also a human story, it’s a drama, a coming-of-age kind of a thing.”
