Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha won't play lovers

After Katrina Kaif, Sidharth Malhotra will be seen starring opposite Sonakshi Sinha in the remake of '

Ittefaq

'. The two however won't be seen playing lovers in the film which is an official remake of the 1969 Hindi murder mystery starring Rajesh Khanna and Nanda. The remake is very different and they are just adapting the basic premise. Since audiences are aware about the suspense of 'Ittefaq', there has to be a twist in the film.

Murder mysteries are almost a dead genre in Hindi cinema and this film is looking to change that. They start shooting from January 2017.
