Siddharth Roy Kapur releases statement about fake social media accounts

Siddharth Roy Kapur, the managing director of Disney India, has released a statement through his company that he is not available on any social media platform. The move came after a number of Kapur's associates and acquaintances had told him that they received friend requests from his accounts on Facebook and LinkedIn.
Kapur, who is married to actress Vidya Balan, has produced films like Fitoor, Haider, and Chennai Express.According to a report in Indian Express, a statement from his company read, 'He is not available on any social media platform and any communication in his name from these fake accounts should be disregarded completely.'

His team found at least three fake profiles in his name on Facebook and two on LinkedIn. A report has been sent to the respective platforms with the request to deactivate these accounts and the team is now alerting the cyber-crime cell about the issue.
