Siddhant Chaturvedi, Kiran Rao, Javed Akhtar and others attend ‘Dhadak 2’ special screening

The makers of ‘Dhadak 2’ organised a special screening in Mumbai, the event saw the presence of prominent personalities, who charmed fans with a surprise appearance. Siddhant Chaturvedi, who played a lead actor, has received critical acclaim for his role. The film was released in theatres on August 1.

At the screening, alongside Siddhant were acclaimed filmmaker Kiran Rao, legendary lyricist Javed Akhtar, actor Ravi Dubey, and actress Alizeh Agnihotri, adding to the star-studded ambiance of the evening. The screening was a vibrant celebration of the film's release, with the attendees appreciating the performances and the sensitive storytelling.

Notable Cast and Storyline

Besides Siddhant and Triptii, the film also features Zakir Hussain, Saurabh Sachdeva, Deeksha Joshi, and Vipin Sharma in key roles. It is the official Hindi remake of the South Indian film Pariyerum Perumal. ‘Dhadak 2’ narrates the story of Neelesh (Siddhant Chaturvedi), a law student from a lower caste, and Vidhi (Triptii Dimri), an upper-caste woman, and how their inter-caste relationship faces societal bias and discrimination. The movie explores themes of caste politics, injustice, and the challenges that arise when confronting traditional norms.


Box Office Performance and Competition

Although ‘Dhadak 2’ received positive reviews, its box office performance fell short of expectations. The film faced stiff competition from Ajay Devgn’s ‘Son of Sardaar 2’, the animated movie ‘Mahavtar Narsimha’ and the romantic drama ‘Saiyaara’.

Meanwhile, Siddhant Chaturvedi will be seen starring alongside veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, Sharad Kelkar, and Wamiqa Gabbi in ‘Dil Ke Darwaaze Khol Na Darling’. The film is produced by Ramesh Taurani, Harman Baweja, Rohandeep Singh, Viraj Sawant, and Ramesh Pulapaka. It is scheduled to release in theaters by the end of 2025.
