Shreyas Talpade, who started his directorial debut ‘
Poster Boys
’, recently commenced working on a project that is primarily based around the life of the Indian
Derby
horse, Rochester, which had defied all odds to win a race. But unfortunately, the horse passed away on June 4 after suffering an accident.
Shreyas reportedly professed that the owners, trainer
Shiraz
Sunder and him were left heartbroken. He further added that Rochester and his trainer Shiraz’s story is emotional and inspiring. It’s about how the horse, who had recovered from a serious injury, trained for four months and won the classic Indian Derby!
Talking about the story on-screen, Shreyas averred that he had asked the owners if he could cast Rochester in the film. He added that they had agreed because after four years of racing, a horse is retired and Rochester was to finish the season this October-November. And now that he is no more, his responsibility has got bigger because it has to be a tribute to him.
The ‘Poster Boys’ director is currently occupied with building the script, and the cast is yet to be zeroed down to. Reportedly, the project is likely to go on floors by the end of this year or early 2019.
