Shreyas Talpade shares bond with his reel pet despite accident

Shreyas Talpade, who returns to Marathi cinema after eight years with Baji, shared a deep bond with his reel pet, the mare Chandani, during the making of the movie.
Like his sword and shield, Chandani is reportedly an integral part of the vigilante superhero Baji. Shreyas says, “I had never ridden a horse before, so I was apprehensive about it and took a few training sessions.As the shoot progressed, I got comfortable.”

The actor’s love for horses remains undiminished despite a near-fatal accident while filming an action scene. The shot required him to sit on Chandani as she galloped up to a point. However, when Chandani refused to stop galloping, Shreyas attempted to jump off. In the process, he rammed into a pillar and fell flat on the ground.
Naturally, for a brief while, everyone on the set was shocked, wondering about the seriousness of his injuries. To everyone’s relief, the actor bounced back after a bout of rest. We hear, when the director suggested another take with a duplicate, Shreyas insisted on doing it himself and shot the scene successfully.
Baji, produced by DAR Motion Pictures, Virtue Entertainment, Affluence Movies, Bluedrop Entertainment and IME Motion Pictures, releases today.
