Shraddha Kapoor resumes shooting for Laxman Utekar’s ‘Eetha’ after five-week break following toe injury- Reports
After a brief hiatus caused by a toe fracture, Shraddha Kapoor has returned to the sets of Laxman Utekar’s upcoming biopic ‘Eetha’. The actor resumed filming on January 4, weeks after being advised to rest following an injury sustained in November 2025. The shooting schedule of ‘Eetha’ had earlier been paused for nearly five weeks after Kapoor suffered a toe fracture, prompting director Laxman Utekar to halt production temporarily. The break was planned to allow the leading lady sufficient time to recover before rejoining the shoot.
According to Mid-Day, the film’s unit is currently filming at Marve Beach in Malad, where an elaborate village setup has been created by the production design team. Sets that were erected in November, including a house interior and a busy village landscape, were preserved during the break and brought back into use once Kapoor returned to work.
The ongoing schedule includes the shooting of a grand dance sequence, set on a stage amid a vibrant mela. The sequence features Kapoor’s character performing in front of a large crowd, with over 800 background artistes reporting to the set daily. The choreography for the high-energy number is being handled by Vaibhavi Merchant.

Biopic tracing the life of a Tamasha legend
Set across five decades from the 1940s to the 1990s, ‘Eetha’ chronicles the life of Pandharpur-born Tamasha artiste Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. The film will explore her unconventional journey to fame, her prominence in the Tamasha circuit, and the financial hardships she faced later in life. At present, portions depicting Narayangaonkar in her 40s are being filmed, for which Kapoor has reportedly undergone a physical transformation, including weight gain.Revised schedule extends shoot till April
Following the completion of the current shooting leg in February, Kapoor is expected to take a short break of around 10 days. This period is likely to be used for physical preparation ahead of filming scenes that portray the protagonist in her 20s and early 30s. While the film was originally scheduled to wrap by February, delays caused by the injury have resulted in a revised timeline. The makers are now aiming to complete the project by April.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”end of article
