Shiamak Davar makes his mission possible
Shiamak Davar has wowed the world with his choreography in Bollywood movies, global events and award ceremonies.
Adding another feather to his cap, Shiamak takes a giant leap with his choreography in the soon to be released Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. The international feel to Shiamak’s style of work made him an immediate choice for choreography.
“For me, it’s taking India to the world. We have such a rich culture to offer, and this is what I display through my movements. It’s a communion of the world through dance, Indo contemporary and modern movements... a point where East meets West. I feel blessed for having the opportunity to work with the best from Hollywood. And of course, it was a delight to work with Tom Cruise,” says Shiamak.
Renowned costume designer Michael Kaplan zeroed in on Shiamak after seeing snippets of his work from his musical productions. The grandeur of the costumes, dancing finesse and a complete performing arts visual convinced him that Shiamak’s style is what the movie needed. The National Award winner put on his thinking cap and has yet again delivered his best work to this project.
“Hollywood is very professional and people respect time. Their commitment to the job is commendable, but I have to say even Bollywood has come a long way. I am excited to see my dance company in this huge film,” exclaims Davar.
With an honorary doctorate from Middlesex University, London this is yet another global feat for Davar in his mission to promote cultural exchange and global connect through dance.
