In an industry where out-of-work actors, especially those with a certain oomph factor would kill to feature in item songs, Sherlyn Chopra’s different. When
Sohail Maklai, the producer of Knock Out approached her for an item song opposite
Sanjay Dutt, he was shocked to hear a ‘No, thank you’ from her. Although the producer assured her that the track has the potential to be a bigger hit than ‘Munni Badnam hui’, she remained adamant.
Sherlyn’s close friend tells us, ‘Sherlyn was struggling with low self-esteem for sometime. But not anymore.
She has been signed by a production house that has been re-defining Hindi cinema since it’s inception. The film-maker believes that her true potential is yet untapped. She has been asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and keep a low profile.” Last week, Sherlyn walked out of an English play which was to be her theatre debut.
A source says, “She put her heart and soul in rehearsing for it.” Last week, the maker of the play was shocked when Sherlyn did not show up for a publicity photoshoot with the entire cast. When we contacted Sherlyn, she said, “I now know what I want in life. Had I had crystal clear clarity back in the day, I would be competing with the top leading ladies of Bollywood today. Guess, I was born to be a late bloomer. Better late than never.”
