Veteran actor Shabana Azmi's mother Shaukat Kaifi passed away on Friday owing to a cardiac arrest. Her last rites are scheduled to take place today in Mumbai, and Bollywood celebs visited Azmi to offer their condolences.

Shaukat Kaifi was married to late Urdu poet Kaifi Azmi and had two children with him - Shabana and Baba.She was known for her work in Hindi classics 'Umrao Jaan' (1981), 'Garam Hava' (1974), 'Salaam Bombay!'(1988), 'Heer Ranjha' (1970) and 'Faslah' (1974). Further, she was last seen in Vivek Oberoi 's 'Saathiya' (2002).
