Shatrughan Sinha recounts how Manhoman Desai would manage to scold Amitabh Bachchan on set

Arbaaz Khan flagged off his ‘The Invincibles’ series with interviews of yesteryear stars and personalities by interviewing his own father, Salim Khan. He has also hosted Helen and Waheeda Rehman on his show and his most recent guest was Shatrughan Sinha.
While speaking to Arbaaz, Shotgun as he's popularly know, recalled a time in the ‘70s when Subhash Ghai landed up at his residence at the crack of dawn to narrate the story of Kalicharan.Shatrughan recalls dozing off while the script was being narrated. In a lighter vein, he clarified to Arbaaz Khan that he wasn’t expecting Subhash Ghai at the unearthly hour of Brahmamuhurta.
Here is what he said, “Koi Ramayana aur Geeta thoda suna rahe thay, ki main jagah rehtha. Arre Kalicharan suna raha tha, toh main soh gaya.” In the same vein, he narrated how Amitabh Bachchan too never ever heard the full script of any movie that he did with director Manmohan Desai.
The legendary director who directed films like Amar Akbar Anthony and Coolie would actually scold his heroes affectionately for wanting to know too many details. “Woh toh Amitabh ko bhi daanth dete the yaari dosti mein, pyaar mohabbat mein.”
